Hong Kong Disneyland
You can take the bus going to the Disneyland although the best way to get there is via the MTR.
If you’re coming from MTR Tsim Tsa Tsui station, it’s best that you take the Tsuen Wan line (red line) to MTR Lai King (9 stops, 19 minutes). From there, transfer to the Tung Chung line (orange line) with an interchange at MTR Sunny Bay for the train going directly to Disneyland (another 19 minutes).
Take the same route going back.
Once you get your tickets from the ticket station, proceed to the entrance directly. Refrain from bringing food and beverage from outside (except baby food and other meds). Do not forget to get maps and time guides from the entrance. These will come handy during your time in Disneyland.
I strongly suggest the following:
- Festival of the Lion King (30 minutes)
- Golden Mickeys (45 minutes)
- It’s a Small World ride
- Winnie the Pooh ride
- Tarzan ride
- Philharmagic
- Parade
- Lighting of the Christmas Tree (during Christmas season)
- And of course, the Disneyland fireworks
Although you have the entire day at the park, it’s impossible for you to experience all the rides and shows considering the number of tourists and the waiting time for each ride / show.
There are a lot of restaurants inside; it just depends on your taste although their food choices are pricey (that’s expected somehow). Souvenirs are available inside the park as well as at the Hong Kong International Airport.
I am in my mid-20s but the moment I set foot on the Mickey Mouse train, I felt like a kid again. No matter how old or young you are, you still get to enjoy the park the same way you enjoyed it when you were kids.
Here are some of my shots during my November 2011 visit to Disneyland Hong Kong.
